Meet Mamba! | Bay Area Pet Photographer

My sister-in-law and her fiance recently got a Great Dane puppy and named her Mamba. I got to meet her for the first time last weekend, while celebrating Christmas with my husband's family. I'm pretty sure she is going to be HUGE the next time I see her, so I wanted to capture a few puppy portraits while she is still smaller than me.

Rachael Bakes! | Bay Area Photographer

You may remember the engagement photos I shot in the rain a few months ago of Jessica & Alex. Well, Jessica's sister, Rachael, has her own dessert catering business and she contacted me to set up a shoot of her desserts and some head shots for her website (which is currently in development). I was very excited to have the opportunity to shoot "stuff that doesn't move" and to have the chance to capture Rachael's bubbly personality and unique style. We shot on location in my kitchen on the Saturday after Thanskgiving (thanks for giving me a great reason to clean my kitchen until it sparkled!). We shot over 10 different types of desserts and got a few really fun shots of Rachael for her site. I hope she is as happy with the photos as my husband Sean and I were with the desserts she left behind for us...they were AH-MA-ZING!

Let me know if you're interested in hiring Rachael -- I can put you in touch!

Hungry, yet? :)

Meet the Faheys! | Bay Area Family Photographer

Kacey and I met our freshman year at Santa Clara University (10 years ago -- eek!). We lived on the same floor in the dorms, and have been friends ever since. We lived together in downtown Palo Alto after we graduated from SCU. After some time, Kacey moved out (to move in with Adam), they soon thereafter got engaged, got married, and this year were lucky enough welcome Kendal to their family! Kendal is 6 months old now, and changing all the time. She is ALL girl: dainty, petite, sweet, and so much fun! Kacey and Adam have adjusted to parenthood flawlessly! Fahey Family, thanks for allowing me to take your holiday family photos!

Baby Olivia | Bay Area Baby Photographer

The Sunday after Thanksgiving I was lucky enough to meet Lea, Mike, and their beautiful baby girl, Olivia. A few things about this awesome family:

1. Lea and Mitzi (mother of 5 boys) are sisters (Did I mention that I love referrals?)
2. Lea & her husband Mike waited to find out if they were having a boy or girl (So cool - I hope to do the same someday. I mean, how many surprises do you really get in life? And, how many are as cool as that?)
3. Little Olivia was a long-time coming, you could call her a miracle baby. Lea told me that someone told her once (after Olivia was born) that in order to make a baby girl as cute as her, God must have had lots of parts on back-order!  (I couldn't agree more -- look at her!)

I enjoyed my time with this family very much (I'm pretty sure I offered to babysit)!

Anderson Family | Bay Area Family Photographer

You may remember Jake from his newborn shots I posted back in October. I did not think this little man could get any cuter, but he absolutely proved me wrong! He is holding his head up, is way more alert, and somehow got even more adorable! His parents took him for his first haircut last week, just in time for his holiday family photo shoot (yes, he needed a haircut at just 3mos old)! Honestly, the entire time I worked on editing the images from this session I smiled. Thanks, Andersons!

Devlin Family | Bay Area Family Photographer

My second (of 6) sessions over Thanksgiving weekend was with the Devlin Family. A few weeks ago, Mitzi sent me an email, letting me know that she and her husband have 5 boys under age 10 and wanted to get some family photos taken before the holidays. I was super excited to work with such a large family (the biggest family I've photographed so far). From the moment I entered their home on Saturday morning, I was welcomed by Annie (the family dog) and five smart, energetic, and incredibly polite boys. They were happy to show me around the yard, and enjoyed getting to pick their own special spots to have their individual shots taken. I shot a few hundred photos, and got a bunch of great family shots (with all 7 Devlins looking at the camera...which is harder than it looks) and some fun ones of the boys individually.

Big thanks to my friend Becky, for connecting me with this great family! I love referrals! :)

Giammona Family | Bay Area Family Photographer

As some of you know, my cousin Jasmine is hair stylist and make-up artist at Dustin David Salon in Los Gatos. Over the years, I've referred many of my friends and co-workers to her with confidence, as her work speaks for itself. As I begin my journey of starting my own business, Jasmine (and her husband, Navid) have been incredibly helpful and have already sent me a few referrals. I can only hope that my work speaks for itself someday, like Jasmine's does.

I share this story because Heidi got my contact information from Jasmine (she gets her hair done by Jasmine, too)! Last Friday, I was lucky enough to meet Heidi and her sweet family at The Sainte Claire Hotel in Downtown San Jose. We got some great family photos. I hope I did a good job documenting this family of 3, as they prepare to become a family of 4 in January!

The best part...Jasmine and Navid got married at The Sainte Claire 2 months ago, and Heidi and her husband had their wedding reception there few years ago! How cool is that?

Beeman Family | Bay Area Family Photographer

Alaina and Mark welcomed little Walker into this world back in August. I was lucky enough to take some photos of them together in their home, just in time for the holidays. Walker is an adorable baby boy with big bright eyes and squeezable cheeks. Here are a few shots from our session this morning.

McMahon Family | Bay Area Family Photographer

I'm back from India, and excited to have more families to photograph! On Saturday, I met with Sabrina & Brian (and their adorable little girls). The weather was against us (it rained all day), so we shot inside. The girls had fun showing me all of their stuffed animals while running around the living room. I tried my best to catch every smile they threw my way. Here are a few shots from afternoon session.
